Enjoy seven nights diving Costa Rica’s northern Pacific coast, a great option for those looking for big fish encounters on a budget.

The Papagayo Gulf is particularly famous for spectacular black coral, and is home to an astonishing abundance of life especially Dec-Apr when divers can encounter the occasional devil ray and thousands of cow-nosed rays.

Suggested itinerary

  1. Day 1: Fly to San Jose

    Arriving in San Jose later the same day, you will be transferred to your resort on the Costa Rica’s stunning northern Pacific coast.

    We recommend the Ocotal Beach Resort, a four-star beachfront hotel, renowned for its outstanding style, comfort and service, with breathtaking views of the Gulf of Papagayo.

  2. Days 2-6 : Dive the Bat & Catalina Islands

    Spend five days enoying the wild and fabulous diving in the Gulf of Papagayo, including the Bat & Catalina islands.

    Located on the northwest pacific coast of Costa Rica, most of the Gulf of Papagayo’s 41 dive sites are accessible within a 30 minute boat ride.

  3. Day 7: Day at leisure

    Enjoy the beautiful surroundings of this region and relax before your flight home.

The Gulf of Papagayo is a large bay on the north Pacific coast; its striking panoramic views and sweeping beaches have made it one of Costa Rica’s top destinations. Its waters support a huge amount of marine life, with large schools of fish and numerous pelagics.
