Bora Bora is the iconic island retreat. Rangiroa's lagoon, maximum depth 28 metres, is so large that it's impossible to see from one side to the other.
This trip idea is based on staying at four star properties but can be amended to suit other budgets staying at local guesthouses.
Suggested Itinerary
Day1: Depart the UK for Tahiti
Day2: Arrive in Tahiti & overnight
Day3: Transfer to Bora Bora
You transfer by domestic flight to Bora Bora for a 7-night stay in a local guesthouse.
Days4-9: Dive Bora Bora
Your five day (10 dives) dive pack begins today. The crystal clear waters of the lagoon are renowned for manta ray encounters. Diving on the outer reef you can expect a healthy marine life of large pelagic species.
Day10: Transfer to Rangiroa
Today you will transfer by domestic flight to Rangiroa where you'll be met on arrival and transfer to your accommodation for a 7-night stay.
Days11-15: Dive Rangiroa
Your five day (10 dives) dive pack begins today. The crystal clear waters of the huge lagoon are filled with marine life and the two passes open on to the ocean, the twice-daily tide surges offering great drift diving, known as ‘shooting the pass’.
Day16: At leisure
Day17: Fly to Tahiti Island & overnight
Day18: Depart Tahiti
Depending on flight schedules, it's possible that you will require an overnight stay en route.
Day19: Arrive UK

Rangiroa’s huge lagoon opens out via two passes to the open ocean, where daily tidal surges offer fantastic drift diving. Expect to see rays, turtles, a myriad of colourful fish and dolphins, before the reef drops dramatically to where sharks and other pelagics congregate.

Tahiti is French Polynesia’s largest island, home to the international airport and the capital, Papeete. It tends to be used as stop before heading to the outer islands, however it offers some of the best conditions for easy diving, with calm conditions and minimal currents.
