Long island is renowned for being one of the most scenic hideaways in the Bahamian archipelago. It’s a great place to get away from it all and enjoy the local hospitality.

The 130 kilometre long, 6 kilometre wide island stretches over the Tropic of Cancer and is bordered by contrasting coasts, one with idyllic beaches and calm waters, the other with rocky headlands descending deep down to the ocean floor, a great adventure for more experienced divers. Throughout the island you will find contrasting topography including sloping hills, swampland and plenty of beaches including the world renowned, Cape Santa Maria.

The Gulf Stream keeps the waters warm in winter and offers pleasant trade winds during the summer months. Dive sites are numerous and varied, suitable for beginners and seasoned divers. Underwater highlights include the pristine corals and marine life on Conception Island Wall, the wreck of the Comberbach freighter and Dean’s Blue Hole, the world’s deepest known and entered into from the shore. Expect an abundant marine life in these crystal clear waters including Caribbean reef sharks.

It's an hour long flight from Nassau to get to this picturesque island.
