Diani Beach is one of Kenya’s premier resorts, with swaying palms and soft white sandy beaches caressed by the warm azure water.
Located 40 minutes south of Mombasa, this is one of the best places to enjoy snorkelling or diving, with a rich and diverse marine life, colourful corals and larger pelagics such as whale sharks and humpback whales visiting seasonally.
Over 32 dive sites and two wrecks lie within a 20-25 minute boat trip of Diani Beach. The HMS Hildasay, sunk in 1945, and the MV Funguro, sunk in 2002 both awaiting experienced divers in 22 metres of water with incredible visibility. All other dive sites are within 15 to 30 metres and offer excellent visibility and a variety of marine life. The area is just as great for snorkellers and those who want to learn to dive, with its coral gardens and regular sightings of dolphin, turtles, sting rays and plenty of fish and macro life to observe.
Create your own dive safari. This is a great option to twin-centre your holiday with the Masai Mara, the finest wildlife sanctuary in Kenya.
- Ideal for viewing: humpback whale, whale shark, hawksbill turtle, ornate ghost pipefish
