Diving experiences on board the Nautilus Under Sea are phenomenal. Seasonal adventures to Socorro and Isla Guadalupe operate throughout the year. Expect unique manta, and numerous shark encounters.

This well-known ship has been entertaining divers since the early 1990s, mainly on research and photography assignments. She is currently in full service operating memorable diving itineraries to remote world-class destinations in the Pacific Ocean.

A classic liveaboard, she accommodates 18 guests in three types of stateroom, all with air conditioning, windows and an en suite bathroom. The Emerald suite is located on the top deck with easy access to the hot tub and al fresco lounge. Spacious and elegantly furnished, the configuration can be double or twin bed. There are six double staterooms located on the lower deck: furnished with two bunk beds, these are available for double occupancy. The quad occupancy stateroom is located on the main deck and features two sets of bunk beds.

The main deck also features a comfortable lounge, galley, dining area and the spacious dive deck. WiFi internet access is available for a fee. Up to four dives a day are offered from one of two tenders on the Socorro itineraries and there’s ample opportunity for everyone in the custom built cages on Guadalupe trips. The Nautilus Under Sea is rebreather friendly and Nitrox is available.

Socorro is just one island in the Revillagigedos Archipelago located 400 kilometres off the southwest of tip of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. The eight night trips to these remote islands operate throughout the season (Nov-Jun). This bucket-list trip offers encounters with giant Pacific mantas and huge pods of dolphin year round, as well as schooling scalloped hammerheads, whale sharks (Apr-Jul and Nov-Dec), humpback whales (Jan-Apr) and magnificent baitball diving (May-Jun). It is common to observe up to ten species of shark during a trip as you dive San Benedicto, Socorro and Roca Partida. It’s here that you’ll get to experience intimate and unique social behaviour from the mantas who seek human interaction. Visibility ranges from 20-30 metres and the water temperature ranges form 23C in February to 28C in November.

From May-Jun the Socorro trips are extended to ten nights to include the Sea of Cortez, a chance to experience one of the world’s most fantastic diving locations and all its wonders.

From Jul-Nov the boat operates thrilling five night itineraries to Isla Guadalupe for great white shark encounters, all from the safety of the purpose built cages. It’s nothing short of spectacular! Certified divers will have the opportunity for a minimum of three dives per day in the deeper submersible cages and unlimited time in the surface cage, both available until dusk. The water is clear and calm with visibility up to 45 metres. The bay is home to over 200 recognised individuals so the probability of encounters with multiple sharks throughout the day is consistently high. Non-divers are welcome.
