The luxurious Maldives Blue Force One liveaboard operates weekly trips to the central atolls and seasonal expeditions to the southern atolls for adventurous seeking exceptional pelagic encounters.
This impressive, purpose built motor yacht operates in the central atolls for most of the year, heading south for two months during peak season in search of spectacular pelagic encounters. She accommodates up to 22 passengers in 11 cabins, spread over three decks. Spacious and modern, the cabins are all air-conditioned and feature an en-suite bathroom, a safe, hairdryer and towels. All but one have a television. This cabin, with twin beds, is located on the upper deck, along with the junior suite (double and single bed) which also has a bath. The main deck features two master suites with a panoramic sea view and private jacuzzi. The master cabin is located at the bow on the lower deck and is furnished with a double bed. The lower deck is home to six well appointed cabins with a double and single bed.
Facilities on board include a spacious and comfortably furnished open plan living and dining room on the main deck, complete with a large TV with in-house channels. The bar is on the upper deck. There are two jacuzzis on board and ample lounging areas with some shade. Kayaks and stand up paddle boards are available. The electricity is 220V and the boat features an ambient lighting system.
All diving is from the accompanying 18 metre long fully equipped dhoni where all dive equipment is stored, as well as the compressors. The standard tank size is 12 litres, with some 15 available to pre-book. All have DIN fittings. Nitrox is complimentary for qualified divers.
The Central Atolls week long itinerary departs Malé on a Saturday for most of the year. The boat also operates seasonal trips to the southern atolls for two months each year, beginning with the 7 Atolls (Deep South Down) itinerary in late January. This begins in Malé and ends in Kooddoo where the boat remains for six weeks, operating the South Hemisphere itinerary. This trip heads to and from Gan, crossing the equator and diving at Gaafu, renowned for its shark encounters, Addu (an ex RAF and Royal navy base) for its mantas, and Foamulah, an exceptional dive spot full of marine life and plenty of surprises. Booking two weeks to create the South Hemisphere Full Expedition is highly recommended, otherwise a one way domestic flight is required. Divers must have a minimum of 100 logged dives to join the southern atolls expeditions.
