Visit some of the most ecologically rich areas of the world on board Calico Jack as she cruises throughout Indonesia during the year seeking exceptional diving experiences and adventure.
Calico Jack is a 30 metre classic Indonesian phinisi boat, tastefully and comfortably furnished throughout with modern facilities and generously sized communal areas. All five cabins are air conditioned with en suite shower room and a double or twin bed configuration. On board facilities include a large galley, outside dining area, sun deck furnished with supersized bean bags, roof terrace, camera servicing area and a dive platform. For ocean lovers with a sense of adventure, the eclectic crew of ten will not only look after you but encourage a hands on approach should you wish to help sail.
Trips include the unique and classic dive sites of Raja Ampat and Komodo National Park, however there is the freedom to explore other regions of Indonesia to create an unforgettable adventure. The itineraries include an 11 night north or south route in Raja Ampat (Nov-May), five nights around Komodo (Jul-Aug) and an 11 exploration of Ambon and the Banda Sea (Jul-Aug). Up to three dives a day with alternating night dives are available from the tenders that accompany the boat. Due to the nature of the dive sites visited, divers will need to be advanced level qualified with a minimum of 50 logged dives to join a trip.
In addition to the diving, there will be opportunities to hike, go bird watching, visit local villages and participate in other activities such as free diving, kayaking, surfing and wake boarding where possible. Grab your friends and family and create your own adventure - Calico Jack is available for full charter.
The average water temperature is 29C and visibility 20 metres. However, you can expect some cold upwellings so we recommend a 5mm full wetsuit, especially on Komodo itineraries. The boat uses 12L tanks and equipment for rent including a few 15L tanks.
