Undersea Explorer [FB]

The Undersea Explorer offers a completely different liveaboard experience; carrying recreational divers along with marine biologists and scientists, who work on research projects at the remote reefs. Recognised by National Geographic as one of the 'Classic Top 10 Adventures in the World' (Nov 05 edition) - the Undersea Explorer aims to offer exciting and stimulating expeditions whilst supporting quality research projects; guests may participate in the research, and part of the company's profit will be used to finance further marine research.

As well as exciting itineraries to the Coral Sea and Ribbon Reef, there are special excursions to the far northern reefs. Undersea Explorer is one of the few vessels that has a licence to dive with the Minke Whales in June and July. The vessel carries nineteen passengers plus three scientists - maximum 22 divers - and five crew. Accommodation is in five twin cabins, with queen-size double beds, and six cabins, with twin bunk beds. Showers and WC's are shared.

6 day Minke Whale Expedition: Available all year round.

Great Barrier Ribbon Reefs & Cod Hole. 16+ dives and unique in-water encounters with Whales.

7 day Far Northern Expedition: Available all year round.

Raine Island, Great Detached Reef, Mantis Reef and Wreck Bay Scenic flight to/from Cairns/Lockhart River near the top of Australia Turtles, sharks & mega fauna! 8 day and 9 day itineraries also available.
