Socorro Islands Liveaboard
11 days London to London [FB, (Liveaboard only)]
-
The Revillagigedo archipelago (of which Socorro is one island) is famous for very close and intimate interaction with giant mantas, that can appear out of the blue anywhere in the islands.
When the diving is hot at Socorro the manta, shark and big fish sightings are incredible. You will definitely see Silky, Silver-tip, Galapagos, and Whitetip reef sharks, and should see solitary and schooling Hammerheads and if you're very lucky Tiger, and Dusky sharks. Whale Sharks are seen in November and December, Humpback Whales during February and March and Orcas have been seen on occasion when the baby Humpbacks are around. While diver interaction with Humpback Whales is rare, some of our guests have been able to play with these leviathans for up to 25 minutes. You can always expect a myriad of colourful reef fish, jacks, Barracuda, spotted trunkfish as well as octopus, turtles and scorpionfish, and very likely bonitas, tuna, wahoo and even marlin at places like Roca Partida. Vast numbers of marine birds nest around the islands and giant sea turtles lay their eggs on the sandy beaches.
