Redang
10 days London to London [B]

Palau Redang is the home of the Terengganu Marine Park, a protected zone north of Kuala Terengganu. Here reefs burst with the largest assortment of coral species that peninsular waters have to offer, and abundant, wellscouted, dive sites practically offer divers a 'menu of sights' from which to choose. Amongst the most popular sites are the 'Big Mount' (a large coral pillar), 'Picture Wall' (a small coral facade brimming with sea fans and corals) and 'Cathedral Arches' (a magnificently varied canyon network patrolled by huge groupers).
Turtle Bay at the northern end of the island is a good place to spot large groups of sea turtles. From Kuala Terengganu a ferry will take you to delightful Redang Island - one of the best coral and marine eco-systems in Malaysia, and fast becoming a major eco-tourist attraction. As well as diving, this island paradise is perfect for swimming, snorkelling, jungle trekking, fishing, boating and canoeing. In this idyllic setting the Berjaya Redang Beach Resort offers 152 Malaysian-style chalets or suites, with en-suite bathrooms, individually controlled air-conditioning, international direct dial, colour TV with inhouse movies, CNN, coffee and tea making facilities and minibar. The hotel has its own dive centre and dive sites are no more than 20-minutes away by fast boat. The best time to visit is March to October.
