Diving Peninsular Malaysia's East Coast Islands
12 days London to London [FB]
-
From May to October the Ocean Rover sails the islands along the East coast of peninsular Malaysia. This is an easygoing island-hopping cruise that visits the islands of Tioman, Aur, Redang, Perhentian, Tenggol and others. Here the sea is calm and the islands are blessed with picturesque anchorages and beautiful scenery. The reefs are well preserved and flora and fauna, both marine and terrestrial, is abundant. The pace of this cruise is purposely relaxed with watersport activities being enjoyed every day. Countless miles of unspoiled coastline beg to be explored by kayak, with the cruise offering two rainforest walks plus several of the islands you will visit have turtle preservation projects.
Diving depths are between five and 35 metres on reefs, pinnacles and even a few wrecks. Reef fish are prolific on all sites with a good variation of species. Macro-critters are in abundance and there are several promising muck dives that beg to be explored. Shark wise the area offers Blacktip, Bamboo, and Zebra Sharks and on occasion a Whale Shark or Manta Ray may cruise by.This is a carefree no-stress diving trip that is suitable for divers of all abilities.
