Lissenung Island Resort

Enjoy world-class diving from the beautiful Lissenung Island Resort, offering pelagics, currents, wall and muck diving, wrecks and beautiful reefs. Situated on a private island, with a maximum of fourteen guests, personal service is guaranteed!

Just twenty minutes, by boat, from Kavieng, the resort comprises seven rooms in four bungalows set amongst coconut palms, with airy verandahs, ceiling fans and mosquito screened bedrooms. Two double rooms enjoy private facilities, whilst the other five double/twin rooms share showers and toilets. Although the water is not heated, the warm environment usually ensures a pleasant water temperature. The resort also has a 24-hour electricity supply.

In the main house, with comfortable chairs on a sandy floor, cold drinks and delicious meals await you. Set menus are offered, with fresh seafood featuring high, although special dietary requirements can be catered for on request. Wine, beer and soft drinks can be purchased and guests are invited to bring their own duty free spirits.

The fully equipped dive shop offers well maintained and serviced dive equipment for hire, including dive computers. The two dive boats depart every morning at 9am, with experienced dive guides accompanying every dive to point out the weird and wonderful that this area has to offer. Expect to see sharks, tunas, mackerels, huge schools of jacks and barracudas and with some luck schooling Eagle, and Mobula Rays. Located just off the beach is a fantastic house reef and free shore diving is included. Diving here is year-round, with the best months being usually April to June and September through to December. Fantastically varied diving ensures that every diver leaves the island happy!
