History and Accommodation

The Anchorage Hotel, Dominica, was established in 1971 by the Armour Family and is perched over the tranquil Caribbean Sea just one mile south of our capital city, Roseau, and only minutes away from most nature attractions.

Over the years The Anchorage has grown to be one of the leading vacation getaway in Dominica or even the Caribbean, Offering its guest supreme comfort and relaxation. It is a 32 room tropical paradise situated 7 minutes from the Roseau.

The 12 Standard Rooms are directly overlooking the swimming pool with a breathtaking view of the tranquil Caribbean Sea as well as the capital, Roseau, and accommodate up two persons. The top 8 rooms contain queen beds while the ground floor (4 rooms) contains one 1 double bed and a twin.

The 20 Superior Rooms are perched over the Caribbean Sea, with views of both north and south of the western coast. Each contain 2 double/full beds and can accommodate up to four persons.

They also boast additional facilities such as a full service restaurant, The Ocean Terrace Restaurant and The Carib Bar, Swimming Pool, and of course a team of warm friendly staff awaiting the pleasure of making The Anchorage Hotel your home away from home.

Scuba Diving and Snorkeling

It's difficult to imagine a destination that offers divers, snorkellers, and those who simply love the water more to see and do than the beautiful nature island...Dominica. The dive operation features a fleet of beautiful boats for diving, snorkeling, whale watching, sailing, party cruises and excursions to the neighbouring islands.

Diving is their life at Anchorage. From handling all your equipment to pointing out the virtually invisible creatures, they will make you feel like it's a trip with friends.

Whale Watching

They are Dominica's Whale Watch Pioneers!

While on the island Whale Watching is a MUST! The boats depart the dock after a thorough briefing next to the full scale' female Sperm whale skeleton every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and return at 5:30 p.m./6:00 p.m.

The luxurious 60' powered catamaran, Miser's Dream and 75' sailing catamaran, Passion are amazingly designed with quality delivery in mind. Sperm Whales are their main focus (Ask about Scar'!), however they cannot leave out the amazing friends/entertainers, the spinner and spotted, Fraser and bottlenose dolphins!

Enjoy the refreshments, fresh fruit juice, natural spring water and rum punch while the experienced naturalists thrill you with their knack of finding dolphins by using the hydrophone and identifying them.
