One of the least populated groups of islands in the Caribbean, the best way to explore the Turks & Caicos Islands' fabulous diving is by liveaboard.
The best of both worlds. This trip allows for a few nights to explore Provo and a week on a liveaboard, allowing the opportunity for the best possible diving experience in the area.
Up to five dives a day are offered on the sheer walls which begin in the shallows and plunge into the deep blue abyss. The crevasses and ledges are decorated with huge orange elephant ear sponges and gorgonians. Divers can also expect colourful reef systems with a bountiful tropical marine life.
The itinerary below is based on a seven night trip on board the Turks & Caicos Explorer II in a twin share cabin, flying directly from the UK.
Day1: Fly to Providenciales
On arrival you will need to make your way to your chosen resort in Providenciales for a two night stay prior to boarding your liveboard (departs on Saturday).
Day3: Join your liveabaord
Join your liveaboard this afternoon. Meet your fellow divers, settle in to your cabin and learn more about the trip from the Captain.
Days4-9: Dive the Turks & Caicos Islands
Make up to five dives per day, starting with the plunging walls that are a feature of the diving at Northwest Point. Expect to see Caribbean reef sharks, spotted eagle rays, turtles, jacks and plenty of other marine life. Favourite dive sites include Shark Hotel, Chimney and Black Coral Forest.
Diving continues along the spectacular walls of the uninhabited West Caicos island. Dive sites here include Elephant Ear Canyon, Magic Mushroom and Highway to Heaven. Expect to see colourful corals, rays, conch, morays, garden eels and the occasional nurse shark.
On day six, the boat transfers further south to French Cay where dive site highlights include the Double D pinnacles, eagle rays at Rock & Roll and the stingrays and vibrant marine life of the remote West Sand Spit.
Your final dive is a dawn dive after which the boat returns to port in Provo to enjoy an afternoon at leisure and dinner ashore (at your own expense).
Day10: Disembark liveaboard
Enjoy breakfast on board before disembarking by 9am and making your way back to resort for an overnight stay.
Day11: Depart Providenciales
Enjoy your last day and make your way back to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK.
Day12: Arrive UK
