Your trip includes time at Tasik Ria Resort & Spa with daily boat diving at Bunaken, home to an aquatic ecosystem full of surprises from tiny creatures to encounters with turtles and napoleon wrasse. Blessed with world-class muck diving sites, Lembeh Strait is the second location of the trip. Here you will stay at Hairball Resort, an intimate diver owned and operated resort and home to Dive into Lembeh.
Included are both boat and shore diving, as well as tuition, tasks and workshops from Jane and Gill throughout your journey. It’s a fantastic opportunity for those looking to improve their underwater photography skills in one of the most desirable destinations in the world.
Day1: Depart the UK
Depart on an overnight flight to Singapore and onwards to Manado in north Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Day2: Arrive Manado
You will be met on arrival and transferred to Tasik Ria Resort & Spa where you will spend the next five nights. Once you’ve checked in, the rest of the day is at leisure. This evening you will have the chance to meet the other members of the group including Jane Morgan and Gill McDonald, the resident photography professional.
Days3-5: Dive Bunaken
Your dive package begins today. Enjoy nine guided boat dives whilst honing your photography skills. Jane and Gill will accompany the group offering tips and tuition, setting tasks and workshops throughout your stay.
Day6: Day at leisure
Your final day at Tasik Ria Resort is at leisure with the opportunity to continue diving, explore the local sites, or simply relax. Both Jane and Gill will be available to discuss your progress and get you set up for the second part of the adventure.
Day7: Transfer to Lembeh Strait
An early start today as the group transfer together by boat to Lembeh Strait. The journey includes two dives in the Bangka/Gangga area. Jane and Gill will be on board offering their expert advice.
You will arrive in Lembeh in the afternoon. On arrival, check in at Hairball Resort for a six night stay. This evening will include a lecture on the enchanting critters found in Lembeh Strait and expert advice on how to prepare your cameras for this world-class diving location by Jane, Gill and resident photography expert Steve Coverdale, owner of the resort and Dive into Lembeh.
Days8-11: Dive Lembeh Strait
Your dive package begins today. Enjoy 12 guided boat and daily shore diving amongst the famous critters of Lembeh Strait; muck diving at its finest. Jane, Gill and Steve will accompany the group, offering tips and tuition, setting tasks and workshops throughout your stay.
Day12: Day at leisure
Your final day in Sulawesi is at leisure with the opportunity to continue diving (early morning only), explore the local sites, or simply relax. Both Jane and Gill will be available to discuss your progress throughout the trip and offer advice on further developing your skills.
This evening, enjoy a farewell BBQ party with Jane, Gill and the other members of your group.
Day13: Depart Manado
This morning is yours to relax before the transfer to the airport for overnight flight(s) back to the UK.
Day14: Arrive UK
You should note: In order to join this group trip, participants should have a minimum of 30 logged dives with good buoyancy skills and their own camera.

Jane is an award winning underwater photographer and photo-journalist. Her work has been widely published in the UK diving press and national newspapers.
Jane has a degree in Marine and Natural History Photography, a unique course that offers the opportunity to engage with natural history image-making, conservation and environmental issues.
She discovered underwater photography during a trip to the Southern Red Sea back in 2001 and never looked back. Jane has been shooting with a Nikon D300s since 2009. As a Dive Technician she has a number of camera systems at her fingertips and is just as familiar with an Olympus Tough, Panasonic Bridge system and Canon compacts.
Her travels have since taken her around the world to some amazing destinations including the Azores, Malta, Guadalupe, Bahamas, Cuba, Malaysia and Indonesia. She is just as comfortable shooting apex predators as she is anemone fish.
Gill has been involved in the underwater industry for 15 years in many different guises.
Currently, Gill is the underwater photo-pro at Tasik Ria Resort teaching courses to all levels of photographers, 2016 editor of Scuba Diver Ocean Planet magazine out of Singapore and feature editor of Ocean Geographic Magazine since its inception in 2007. Her writing and photography have been published many times. Gill does photography talks at dive shows with her colleague and friend Jane Morgan. She was editor of the British Society of Underwater Photographers (BSoUP) coffee table magazine for four years, along with fulfilling many other roles within BSoUP. Gill was a website author for an underwater TV channel, underwater photography competition and trade show organiser, and has worked at numerous events including the prestigious 'Visions in the Sea' festival in London, 'Celebrate the Sea' festivals in Asia and 'Go Wild for the Philippines' fund raiser in Bristol. In 2010 Gill organised a hugely successful 'Evening to Remember' at London Zoo with David Doubilet, Michael Aw and Leandro Blanco.
