The Sri Lanka Aggressor offers three itineraries throughout the year, encompassing recreational diving, whale and dolphin watching and technical diving. Explore wrecks, dive colourful reefs and discover what it’s like to encounter large cetaceans whilst snorkelling.
Departing from near Negombo on the west coast of Sri Lanka, the recreational itineraries include the best of everything, spending time exploring the accessible wrecks off the Colombo coast and drifting along the outer reefs a little further north.
Whale and dolphin watching itineraries depart from both the west and east coast depending on the season. The highlights on these snorkelling trips are undoubtedly the blue and sperm whale encounters.
Technical divers are well catered for and there are several trips dedicated to the discovery and exploration of several WWll wrecks including the HMS Hermes, a British built aircraft carrier.
All trips on board the Sri Lanka Aggressor are seven nights in duration. The itinerary below is based on the recreational diving itinerary.
Please note that this liveaboard ceases operations in March 2017.
Day1: Depart the UK for Colombo, Sri Lanka
Day2: Arrive Colombo and overnight
You will be met on arrival and transferred to your resort in Negombo for an overnight stay.
Days3-9: Dive Sri Lanka - wrecks, reefs and cetaceans
This afternoon you will be transferred to the Sri Lanka Aggressor. Check in for a week long trip, diving the best of the west coast. Your package includes up to five dives a day.
The first half of the week is spent exploring the wrecks off the West Colombo coast. These artificial reefs are easily accessible for recreational divers and highlights include the Chief Dragon (a car transporter) and Taprobane (a small barge) for its vivid colours and marine life.
The second half of the week is spent drift diving along the coral reefs of Northwest Kalpitiya. These offshore dive sites have rarely been dived and offer a rich marine life. During your time here, one morning will be spent snorkelling with the whales and dolphins that frequent the area in season. Expect to see sperm whales and spinner dolphins.
The trip ends on Friday evening and all guests will disembark to enjoy the evening on shore (evening meal at own expense).
Day10: Disembark liveaboard and fly back to the UK
After the liveaboard, it's possible to extend your adventure and discover more of this enchanting land. We recommend a stay at the Aggressor Tented Safari Camp or, if you prefer a beach stay or cultural tour - we can arrange this too.
For those heading home, you will be transferred back to Colombo airport for your return flight to the UK, arriving later the same day.
You should note: The Sri Lanka Aggressor also operates whale and dolphin watching and technical diving itineraries at other times of the year.
