Be one of the first to explore the remote Hallaniyat Islands in southern Oman on this six night dive safari in season.

This unique six night adventure on board the Saman Explorer liveaboard offers pristine corals, humpback and sperm whales and some wreck diving around the Hallaniyat Islands, an untouched and undiscovered diving region where you can expect everything!

Typical itinerary

  1. Day 1: Depart UK for Salalah

  2. Days 2-7 : Transfer to boat and begin Hallaniyat Dive Safari

    On arrival in Salalah you will be transferred to Mirbat harbour to embark the Saman Explorer liveaboard. Begin your six night adventure exploring the remote and untouched Hallaniyat Islands. Up to four dives are offered per day, including tanks and weights.

  3. Day 8: Disembark and overnight in Mirbat

    Your final dive is this morning. After lunch you will be transferred to the Salalah Marriott, Mirbat for your final night.

  4. Day 9: Return to the UK

    Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to the UK, arriving later the same day. Alternatively, speak to us about extending your Oman holiday in Salalah or Muscat.

Salalah is situated over around 950 kilometres south of Muscat and offers an invigorating lush temperate climate in stark contrast to the rest of the country, as well as relatively untouched dive sites. Salalah is also the starting point for trips to the Hallaniyat Islands.

Hallaniyat Islands

Untouched and undiscovered, the Hallaniyat Islands are home to pristine corals, humpback whales and wrecks. The area is relatively new to divers, you can expect anything! The islands are reached only by liveaboard and in season from November to May.

  • Ideal for viewing: humpback whale, giant grouper, giant oceanic manta ray, honeycomb moray eel, common dolphin
  • Excellent for: Liveaboard diving

Saman Explorer

This spacious liveaboard operates to the Hallaniyat Islands in the winter months, home to pristine corals and exploratory diving. In the summer it heads to Sifah and the Daymaniyat Islands for whale shark encounters.
