Explore the Baa and Raa atolls by liveaboard during the best season for spectacular encounters with manta rays and whale sharks.
Located to the northwest of the Maldives, the Baa & Raa atolls are one of the most exciting liveaboard destinations in the Maldives. Between August and October, these small atolls become a playground for feeding manta rays and whale sharks, putting on a spectacular show for visiting divers and snorkellers, especially at Hanifaru Bay. Departing from Malé, a limited number of itineraries are available each year.
The itinerary below is based on a seven night trip on board the Carpe Vita. Ten night trips and other liveaboards are also available to book.
Typical Itinerary
Day1: Depart the UK for Malé
Day2: Arrive and transfer to your liveaboard
You will be met on arrival and transferred to your chosen boat. This afternoon, kit up for your first dive on the North Malé Atoll.
Set sail for the Baa Atoll overnight.
Days3-6: Explore the Baa and Raa atolls
The next few days are spend in the Baa and Raa atolls. Enjoy up to three dives each day and expect encounters with manta rays and whale sharks in season!
Day7: Return to North Malé Atoll
Make two more dives on the Baa Atoll, before making the return crossing. Enjoy two further dives on the North Malé Atoll.
Day8: Enjoy a final dive, then relax
Day9: Disembark and depart Malé
Finish your liveaboard and take a return flight back to Malé in tiem for your flight home.
