When to go

Mozambique’s best marine life encounters coincide with the wet season.


  • Wet season

    Nov to May: Mozambique’s wet season is the best time for diving encounters, particularly whale sharks and manta rays
  • Dry season

    Jun to Oct: Summer is dry in Mozambique, however it is the low season for diving

Wildlife events

  • Nov to May: Whale sharks gather in Tofo and Inhambane
  • Oct to Apr: Manta rays are found in greater numbers in Tofo & Zavora
  • Jul to Oct: Humpback whale migration along the coast
