Set in beautiful surroundings in the southwest of Coron Bay, Sangat Island Resort sits on a 300 metre stretch of pure white sand, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and majestic coconut palms, and is the gateway to the world famous wrecks of Coron Bay.

Located in the Calamian Islands, the most westerly in the Philippines, the resort is one of the best kept secrets of eco-conscious paradise seekers and diving enthusiasts throughout the world. The tropical waters teem with aquatic life and the historically important WWll Japanese shipwrecks of Coron Bay are minutes from your doorstep.

It features 14 native styled accommodations built from locally sourced materials with hand-woven bamboo wall panels, split bamboo flooring and cogon grass or nipa palm roofing. Choose from cosy, beach or hillside chalets to the affordable family-oriented bungalow suite units, the stately hilltop chalet or the spectacular Lambingan Villa. Each accommodation is well ventilated by large mosquito-netted windows and includes western-styled bathroom facilities, ceiling fans, ample lighting, and 220-volt electrical outlets.

All meals are included during your stay and are served in a buffet-styled environment with seafood, meat and vegetarian options available daily. Facilities include a dive centre, restaurant and bar, souvenir shop and fitness centre. If you have time for anything but diving, there's plenty to choose from - water sports, island hopping, nature treks, rock climbing, bird watching, hot springs and massage therapy.

Your stay here will be restful, adventure-filled and memorable.

Dive Centre

Sangat Island Dive Resort has a comprehensive on-site dive facility fitted out with all the equipment you'll need for any underwater adventure during your stay. Both PADI and SDI affiliated they offer a full range of courses including technical diving. Nitrox is available and the resort is Rebreather friendly. (12L and 15L tanks INT and DIN available)

The most popular and historically interesting dive locations around Sangat are always the wreck sites. Just a few of these fascinating pieces of war-time history include Japanese gun boats and sub chasers, cargo and supply vessels, a sea plane tender and more.

The fleet of five speedboats with up to 8 divers on board head out daily to the nearby famous wrecks of Coron Bay and the surrounding reefs. Outriggers are available for larger groups. There's a dive site for everyone here, whether you're learning, a total 'wreckie' or an experienced technical diver.

Other unique local dive sites include the geothermal waters of Barracuda Lake and Coron Island’s extraordinary, semi-subterranean Cathedral Cave.

In 2004, the waters and reefs surrounding Sangat island were officially designated as a protected marine park; as such, Sangat Island Dive Resort plays an ongoing role in the management, protection and – as necessary – rehabilitation of all marine wildlife areas located within the confines of the Sangat Island Marine Park.
