Two of the famous muck dive sites of Lembeh Strait comprise the house reef at the intimate Dive into Lembeh Resort in Kasawari Bay.
Previously known as Hairball Resort, this owner-managed, diver dedicated resort features nine identical seaview bungalows, all built from locally sourced materials. The spacious, private bungalows are equipped with air-conditioning, en-suite bathroom, fans, TV, minibar, safe, water dispenser and a verandah with a Japanese Onsen to warm up in at the end of your diving day.
Facilities include an open air restaurant and bar serving local and international cuisine, a swimming pool, a dedicated camera room, spa and fire pit overlooking the Lembeh Strait where you can sit in comfort and talk about the amazing critter encounters of the day.
The resort is a 90 minute road transfer from Manado airport.
Dive into Lembeh
The purpose built, full service dive facility operates three daily boat dives in the Lembeh Strait, famous for its muck diving on black volcanic sand. The purpose built boats return to resort after each dive, allowing divers to relax between dives, and photographers to make any necessary changes to their equipment. The small and experienced team offer a diver guide ration of 3:1.
In addition to the daily scheduled dives, it’s possible explore the house reef - home to Hairball and Aw Shucks dive sites - throughout the day. Mandarin and night dives are available to book locally.
The dive centre caters exceptionally well for photographers and a full range of PADI dive courses are available to those who would like to further their diving education. It’s possible to rent equipment and Nitrox is available.
Underwater highlights are too numerous to list, however some of the known critters that you’ll encounter here are: multiple species of nudibranch, seahorse, octopus, pipefish, eels and frogfish, as well as gobies and tobies, dragonet, file fish, flamboyant cuttlefish, shrimp, bobbit worms and a whole lot more.
