Located on North Bimini island, Bimini Big Game Club Resort & Marina is perfectly located for diving and snorkelling activities, including great hammerhead shark encounters in season.

Perched sea side, overlooking the flats and offshore mangrove islands, this small resort is a ten minute transfer from the airport, three minute walk to the closest beach and five minutes to one of the most exciting shark encounters in the world.

The 51 modern and comfortable rooms and suites are located in a central building facing the sea, and the resort also features six cottages. All rooms are equipped with modern amenities, en-suite bathrooms and easy access to the pool area. WiFi internet access is available.

Facilities include the Bar & Grill restaurant: built on an elevated deck with spectacular views of the sunrise and sunset, this is the social epicentre of the resort where all meals are served. Cocktails and snacks are available and there are multiple TV screens in the bar area. The resort features a swimming pool, loungers, hammocks, an on-site dive centre, sport and bone fishing activities and a 75 slip marina.

During your stay here, take the time to wander around Alice Town and meet the friendly locals in this relaxed area of the world.

Neal Watson’s Bimini Scuba Centre

Located on-site in the marina, this PADI affiliated dive centre offers a comprehensive range of courses, daily boat diving, snorkelling trips, night dives, dolphin excursions (snorkelling) and great hammerhead dives in season.

The fleet includes Bimini Blue, a fully equipped 30 metre glass bottomed boat accommodating up to 30 divers, and Tranquility, a smaller boat for up to four divers (no toilet on board).

The daily diving schedule includes top favourites such as the Sapona wreck (a shallow dive and great for snorkellers too) and Bimini Barge which sits upright in 30 metres of water close to the edge of the continental shelf. Lush coral and sponge growth can be found on the wall diving sites of Victory Reef, The Nodules and Tuna Alley, a series of sites with caverns, overhangs and swim-throughs. The Strip is a classic Bimini dive site (a long thin reef surrounded by an expanse of sand) and a hive of activity with all kinds of marine life observed, from tiny invertebrates to stingrays and the occasional nurse shark patrolling the area. Expect to see plenty of fish life, octopus, lobster, moray eels, snapper, grouper, trumpet fish and keep an eye out for larger pelagic species and sharks in the waters that surround Bimini.

Encounters with great hammerheads are the highlight here and safaris operate in season (Dec-Mar). They are extremely popular, so best to book early.
